Pony Pals Adventure is a fun and interactive 4-week program designed for children ages 4-7 with an adult. Each 30-minute session introduces kids to the world of horses, covering topics like horse care, behavior, breeds, colors, and riding basics. Through hands-on activities and up-close experiences, young horse enthusiasts will learn, play, and build confidence around their new equine friends!

Horse Explorers is a 4-week program for kids ages 8-12, perfect for those who want to dive deeper into the world of horses. Each 60-minute session covers a range of topics, from advanced grooming and horse care to understanding horse behavior and basic riding techniques. With hands-on activities and plenty of hands-on horse time, students will explore the ins and outs of equine life, gaining skills and confidence along the way.

Equine Adventurers is a 4-week program tailored for teens ages 13-15, focusing on a more in-depth understanding of horse care, riding, and horsemanship. Each 60-minute session covers advanced topics like tack fitting, groundwork, and riding strategies. Designed for those passionate about horses, this course will develop riding skills, horse management knowledge, and foster a deeper connection with these majestic animals.

Equine Basics and Beyond is a comprehensive 4-week program for ages 16-18, perfect for aspiring equestrians. Each 60-minute session delves into advanced horse care, riding techniques, equine health, and training fundamentals. Participants will gain hands-on experience with horses, learning the skills needed for responsible horse ownership or potential careers in the equine industry.

Our activities are designed with families in mind, and we’ve tailored our programs to meet the unique needs of homeschoolers. Being a homeschool family ourselves, we believe in nurturing confidence, fostering a strong work ethic, and developing problem-solving skills in children of all ages.

Experienced Instructors
Our instructors bring over 70 years of combined experience to each lesson. Dan, born into the equine world, studied equine science at Michigan State University and has competed in reining, ranch western riding, team penning, and mounted shooting. Julie, with 20 years of industry experience, holds an associate’s degree in equine science from Scottsdale Community College and specializes in business management. She’s also an equine massage therapist. Together, they ensure that every participant receives personalized guidance from true experts in the field.
Safe, Fun, and Educational
At Pine River Stables, safety is our top priority. We have a wide range of safety protocols in place to ensure the well-being of both our participants and our horses. Our small class sizes allow for plenty of hands-on practice and individual attention. Whether your child has never been around horses or has years of experience, our program is designed to expand their equine knowledge in a safe and engaging environment. We encourage curiosity and questions, helping students grow their skills at their own pace.
