WHAT IS HORSE POWERED READING®?
Horse Powered Reading® is an experiential learning program that combines literacy activities with guided horse interaction and movement-based learning experiences.
Sessions are designed to help children build:
- reading confidence
- focus and attention
- motivation to learn
- emotional connection to reading
- communication and problem-solving skills
Every child learns differently — and sometimes the best learning happens outside the traditional classroom environment.
WHO THIS MAY HELP
This program may be a great fit for children who:
- struggle with traditional learning methods
- need hands-on or movement-based learning
- have lost confidence in reading
- learn better outside the classroom setting
- benefit from individualized support

WHY HORSES?
Horses naturally respond to:
- body language
- confidence

Through guided interaction, children often develop stronger confidence, increased engagement, and a more positive relationship with learning.
WHAT A SESSION MAY LOOK LIKE
During a session, children may:
- meet and connect with their horse reading buddy
- participate in literacy-based activities
- engage in movement and horse interaction exercises
- practice communication and focus skills
- learn in a calm outdoor ranch environment

Guiding Light Ranch is a pending nonprofit organization operating in partnership with Pine River Stables.
We provide educational and wellness-oriented equine experiences designed to support confidence, focus, responsibility, and personal growth through horses, outdoor learning, and hands-on experiences.
All programs are educational and experiential in nature and do not provide therapy or clinical services.
